Removing Red Stains From Dog Fur

Is bottled water the same as using distilled water. How much vinegar to how much water to help eliminate the red staining?

Hi Janice here from Small Dog Place

No amount of bottled, filtered or distilled water will remove the stains, but if you use these products, new hair growing out will be affected. We have well water here that has a tremendous amount of iron in it which tends to cause staining in all of our white haired dogs.
Using either filtered water, distilled water or bottled water will help eliminate the red tinge to their hair color. It doesn't matter. It would be best to use filtered/distilled/bottled water until you see a noticable difference. The old hair that is discolored can be trimmed at that point.
